NIHI Sumba lays claim to having some incredible waves in the local area, the star of the show is ‘Occy’s Left’, the 2-300m left-hander that breaks directly in front of the resort. ‘Occy’s Left’ is fully private for the guests of the resort with a limit of only 12 surfers being onsite at any time. The wave is popular for its character, changing with swell, tide, and wind. One thing that is guaranteed, you will have uncrowded Indo!
The expert surf team is available to guide you to the other waves in the area. Rua, a soft a-frame for when Occy’s is too big. Kerewei, perfect for practicing turns with a beginners section on the inside. The Hole is a swell sucking peak, that is usually 2-3 times the size of ‘Occy’s’! The team will always guide you to the best waves for your level and the conditions.
