Mountains & Terrains
Altay Mountain Lodge & Yurts is nestled in the southwestern part of the Altay Mountains, located in the East Kazakhstan region. The exclusive ski touring area spans 25 square kilometers and offers the finest terrain in the region, featuring dramatic drops, deep snow, and a vast array of runs and terrain types. No other operation in Central Asia, or even in the entire country, can match the size, quality, and variety of the terrain available in the Altay Mountains.
Similar to Siberia, the Kazakhstan portion of the Altay Mountains enjoys remarkable snowfall, with over 5 meters of snow annually and depths reaching up to 3 meters. The season kicks off in November and extends into early April. Throughout the season, you can expect only one type of snow, powder, always deep and plentiful.

Lodging
Altay Mountain Lodge & Yurts’ camp offers an exceptional level of comfort for a remote mountain location. The camp features 3 yurts for guests and staff, a dining/kitchen yurt, a banya (bathhouse similar to a sauna that can be heated to over 80ยฐC), and a sanitary block equipped with washbasins and four standard toilets. Each guest yurt spans 50 sqm and includes 4 separate compartments, each with two beds. These compartments offer visual and slightly acoustic separation. The beds come with mattresses, linens, and warm blankets, while a modern wood stove keeps the yurt warm.
The camp is powered from morning until late evening, providing sufficient electricity to charge your devices. Although there is no cellular service, the camp offers Internet connectivity.
The menu features traditional Kazakh and Central Asian dishes, prepared with premium local ingredients, ensuring a first-class gastronomic experience.
Transportation
The logistics at Altay Mountain Lodge & Yurts camp are expertly managed using modern, heavy-duty Lynx Ranger snowmobiles. These powerful machines are equipped with both passenger and cargo sleds, enabling efficient transportation throughout the camp and beyond. The Lynx Ranger snowmobiles are specifically chosen for their reliability and performance in challenging winter conditions, ensuring that all necessary supplies and equipment are transported safely and promptly.
The snowmobiles are used strategically to reduce the time and effort required to access more remote areas of the valley. By shortening the approach to these distant locations, guests can spend more time enjoying unparalleled powder skiing in some of the most pristine and untouched terrain.
