Mountains & Terrains
Mallin Alto is situated in the Southern Andes, at the heart of Argentine Patagonia, spanning over 6,000 hectares. It boasts the largest ski area in the region, with only 30% of its vast terrain explored and covered. The landscape is incredibly diverse, offering everything from steep and gentle slopes to majestic ridges and skiable forests. Mallin Alto is ideal for advanced skiers and snowboarders with off-piste experience, yet it also caters to beginners, ensuring an intense and enjoyable adventure for all skill levels. Thanks to the diverse orientations of over 10 valleys and expansive ancient forests, skiing is always possible, regardless of the weather conditions.
Snowfalls and storms begin in mid-May, marking the start of the ski season, which runs from early June through the end of October. From mid-June to August, you can experience the best powder snow in Patagonia, thanks to our unique location in a cold, dry steppe transition zone.
The Package
Located 23 km south of San Carlos de Bariloche and just 20 minutes from the international airport, Mallin Alto country house is strategically perched at 1,000 meters above sea level, where the Patagonian steppe meets the Andes. Surrounded by mountains reaching up to 2,400 meters and impressive forests of lengas, it’s an ideal retreat for nature lovers.
Start your day by waking up to breathtaking views of untouched snowy peaks from the comfort of your bed by the fire, followed by a hearty breakfast. The mountain guides provide a safety briefing, equipping each guest with a digital transceiver, probe, and shovel while analyzing the weather conditions to plan the day’s adventure. The skiing begins with UTVs and snowmobiles ready to take you to the slopes. At midday, enjoy a traditional Patagonian lunch at the glamping site, before continuing with your ski or snowboard activities. In the afternoon, unwind with an après-ski session featuring drinks, handcrafted beers, and a relaxing soak in the hot tub.

Mallin Alto offers a glamping experience at 1,700 meters above sea level, featuring 4 domes and lodges of varying sizes that can accommodate up to 15 guests. The facilities include a living and dining area, rooms with private bathrooms, heating, hot showers, and comfortable double and single beds. The glamping site is set in a stunning, remote location with breathtaking views of valleys and rivers.
After a day of skiing, guests can unwind at the glamping site with a selection of signature and regional wines, homebrewed beers, and traditional Patagonian snacks. The hot tub is the perfect way to relax after a long day on the slopes.
The chef prepares delightful menus using organic ingredients, with the option to customize dishes to meet dietary preferences.
The Cats and Sleds
Unlike traditional Cat-skiing services, Mallin Alto offers a unique experience with fast-tracked vehicles and snowmobiles, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in skiing and snowboarding. The thrill of snowmobiles, combined with the comfort and safety of ATV tracks, enhances your skiing adventure. Mallin Alto understands that the mountain experience is more enjoyable with quicker transportation, reducing the time between descents and enabling groups to be organized according to skill level or preference.
With the use of snowmobiles and ATV tracks, you can achieve 15 to 20 descents per day, covering an average vertical drop of 3,500 to 5,000 meters.
