The resort is located on the shores of a beautiful bay, where the resort’s namesake, Kingfishers frequent. The white sand beach looks out to turquoise waters and is backed by palm trees, with 10 high-quality waves within 10 minutes boat ride of the resort!
The Resort
Kingfisher Resort sits on the southern tip of Sipora Island, in the Central Mentawais, within walking distance of Lance’s Left, one of the most consistent waves in the region! The resort occupies a prime beachfront location, overlooking the turquoise waters of a protected bay.
The resort has been built using traditional building materials and techniques and blends in well to its tropical island setting! With just 3 bungalows for a maximum of 10 guests, Kingfisher offers a comfortable and intimate experience! With a large restaurant, the resort also has a newly installed swimming pool to chill beside!
Waves at Kingfisher Resort
Kingfisher Resort is located in one of the most wave regions in the Mentawais. With 10 waves located within a 10-minute boat ride, there is always somewhere breaking offshore. Lance’s Left, a world-class left-hander is just a short walk from the resort, with Lance’s Right, the pin-up wave of the Mentawais being just a short boat ride away.
Nearby is Bintangs, a short but super intense, offering tubes and walls! Up the reef from Lance’s Left is Cobras, a heavy left that will spit you out to the channel. There are other semi-secret waves, rarely surfed by the charter boats in the area as well! The onsite surf guides will always be on hand to find you the best waves each session.

The Bungalows
Whilst staying at Kingfisher Resort, you will be accommodated in one of the 3 traditional bungalows. These have space for up to 10 travelers and are well designed, spacious, and comfortable. With views over Lance’s Left, these couldn’t be in a more perfect spot!
All rooms are fully are conditioned and also have fans. With large, fully tiled, ensuite bathrooms, with sinks, shower, and toilet, the bungalows are well equipped for all travelers to stay in comfort!
The Cuisine
All meals at the resort are served in the restaurant which has a spacious veranda that you can take in the awe-inspiring, panoramic view of Lance’s Left and the adjacent bay.
The resort’s in-house chef prepares daily meals using only the tastiest local ingredients. You’ll be served plentiful helpings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
The tranquil atmosphere of their restaurant is the best place to relax and feast on a variety of foods while enjoying the amazing view of the island and its wonderful surroundings.
Activities
The resort offers a wide range of activities for non-surfers or to keep you occupied when not surfing. With fishing, snorkeling, spearfishing, SUPing, foiling, biking, and trekking around the islands available, you’ll always be kept busy!

For the easy-going angler, the tropical waters of Sipora offer brilliant conditions for fishing. Most of the surf breaks around the island are accessed via boat, so in between surf sessions, you can often drop a line and catch something for dinner!
How to Get There
Reaching Kingfisher Mentawai is easy, with the resort arranging all transport for you. You just need to arrive in Padang and we will take care of the rest. You can either take the Mentawai Fast ferry and Speed boat or a private speed boat can be arranged!
