An iconic figure of the seaside resort of Hossegor, Les Hortensias du Lac hotel is located on the western shore of the marine lake, in the shade of the pine trees of Les Landes. The hotel is a short walk away from the endless beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. Les Hortensias Du Lac mixes Art Deco heritage and surf culture through the values and unique atmosphere of the Les Domaines de Fontenille collection.

The hotel has 25 rooms and suites, a 450m2 mineral organic spa, an outside and heated 80sqm swimming pool, a restaurant overlooking the lake with a large terrace and a bar, a seminar room, and a fitness room.

La Cabane des Estagnots, less than 2 km from the resort, is one of the most famous “cabins” on the Landes coast, and it is the ideal place for a relaxing break at any time of the day facing the ocean.

Hossegor surf is the epicentre of the 230km coastline called the Côte d’Argent, the longest uninterrupted stretch of sandy beach in Europe. Hossegor is the land of the epic beach breaks: the exceptionally powerful, hollow, and perfect world-class waves have attracted the world’s best competitive surfers.

September to November is arguably the best time of year to surf in Hossegor. The water is warm from the summer, the waves are starting to pick up in size and the crowds are low. This is when the WSL Quik Pro France is held and there’s always a good vibe in town. From December to April you can expect big heavy barrels and powerful spring tides, suitable for advanced surfers looking to score! Families and total beginners will find plenty of fun waves from May to August: the summer months surf is more relaxed even if more crowded. At Les Hortensias, most of the rooms open onto the marine lake. The seaside Landes-style interior retains a laid-back feel similar to the surf hotels of the Hamptons in the United States.

The hotel has 19 rooms, 3 junior suites, and 3 suites. Connected and duplex rooms are the perfect option for families, and pets are welcome at the hotel!

The rooms are spacious and cosy, and go from 30 sqm to 65 sqm. All rooms have bathrooms with showers & bathtub.

The Hortensias restaurant overlooks Lake Hossegor and proposes land-sea cuisine reflecting the gastronomic heritage of Landes area. Chef Philippe Moreno offers cuisine based on seafood and planchas. Local sourcing, respect for the seasons, sustainable development and permanent renewal are essential.

The Lake Beach House offers a more contemporary and laid-back atmosphere and a unique view of the marine lake of Hossegor.
