Taghazout, an old fishermen’s Berber Village, in the Souss Massa Drâa region, is nowadays known for its waves and attracts surfers worldwide. It has become a multi-cultural haven with residents from all over the world.

The Hotel

Munga Guesthouse is a Moroccan boutique hotel, built as a result of passion and patience and is a product of hard work, local materials and a touch of love.

Located in the heart of Taghazout, the hotel is steps away from the beach, the town square, and several restaurants and cafes and is surrounded by world-class waves, sun-kissed mountains, and is characterized by a distinctive Berber culture that has thrived over the centuries.

The purpose of the team is to provide the guests with an authentic, comfortable experience that will leave them refreshed and revived.

Waves at Munga Guesthouse

Taghazout has enjoyed legendary status for decades, as a place to escape the winter blues. Here you come for Anchor Point, the famous right-hander with the ability to hold huge size and break down the perfectly angled headland for over a kilometre. Many other world-class spots are around the corner.

Munga provides private surf lessons and guided trips. Whether it is your first time surfing or you are an experienced surfer wanting to find the best waves Morocco has to offer, the experienced surf guides and instructors have you covered.

Explore the area onboard the custom 1974 Renault 4 packed with longboards, twin and single fins with the Retro Daze package. Explore the coast to the North of Taghazout up to Imsouane on a Land Rover Defender, stopping at sand dunes and deserted beaches. Photo and video feedback, one on one coaching and tailored fitness programs are available on request.

The Rooms

Munga Guesthouses consist of 15 uniquely designed rooms (Suites, Mini-Suites and Magnums) that provide guests with the perfect space to relax and enjoy their stay in Taghazout. Each room is tastefully decorated using art and furnishings that incorporate locally sourced materials. The wooden furniture is a very common theme throughout the entire hotel and it’s a typical element in the Berber tradition.

Decorated in a luxurious simplicity, the Suites are the perfect place to relax and slow down and each one has its own terrace. The Mini-Suites are between 30-40 sqm and all have their own balcony. Each one is meticulously decorated in African Moroccan fusion giving a unique charm. The Guesthouse Magnum Suites are over 100 sqm including their outside living areas and each of them dedicates its interior design to a different area of Africa, and magically transform each guest’s stay into an unforgettable experience.

The Cuisine

The magical rooftop ocean-view terrace hosts the Favela Restaurant. Located on the top floor of Munga, this small jewel serves a variety of fresh local seafood, Moroccan and Mediterranean dishes, as well as homemade tapas and desserts.

The surfer bar offers cold beer and wines and is the place where the international surfer crowd meets to share stories after a day at the beach.

A more relaxed setting can be found at Munga’s Kitchen, which is located at the lobby level. Munga’s Kitchen will spoil you with healthy food, big organic salads, delicious burgers, pizzas, pasta, freshly home-prepared desserts, and weekly new ideas to be tasted. The decor of Mungas Kitchen is driftwood, beach style, homemade, up-cycled, unique and simple luxury, which will allow you to feel right at home. Vegans, vegetarians are welcome.

Munga Guesthouse has carefully chosen a selection of activities that will make your stay as healthy and relaxing as possible during your trip. The hotel offers private Yoga lessons on the rooftop terrace with talented and certified Yoga instructors. Munga Guesthouse is located in the heart of Taghazout, a small coastal village 19 km North of Agadir. Airport Transfers from Agadir Al-Massira and Marrakesh Menara Airports can be booked in advance to make your arrival as smooth as possible. The Airports are well connected to all the major European cities with daily direct flights.
