Pelican Point Lodge is an extraordinary destination, nestled in the remote and captivating landscape of Namibia’s Skeleton Coast. Once a harbour control building, it has been transformed into an elegant boutique hotel, featuring 10 individually decorated suites. Among them is the remarkable Captain’s Cove, a spacious penthouse suite offering breathtaking 360-degree views of the Pelican Point Peninsula.
The Lounge and dining area offer spectacular views whilst dining. Best views over the bay and desert dunes are best enjoyed from the spacious deck which is also the perfect place to watch amazing sunsets.
Waves at Pelican Point Lodge
Onto the sand spit that protects Walvis Bay and leads to Pelican Point and the lighthouse, you will find the world-famous Skeleton Bay. Aka Donkey Bay, this wave has gained international recognition as one of the best waves in the world by professional surfers. With the potential for 2km of picture-perfect draining barrels in ankle-deep water, this wave is heavy, fast and possibly the best and longest barrel you will ever witness.
From May to Sept, you can expect consistent 6-10ft SW-W swells with the more westward swells being particularly favourable. There’s also a variety of rocky reefs and points waiting to be discovered along the 40km stretch.

The generator operates from 18:00-22:00 and 06:00-09:00, and during lounge/restaurant hours after 22:00. Gravitational feed supplies water when the generator is off. Their focus is on maintaining sustainability and providing an eco-conscious experience.
Get There
The hotel offers complimentary pick-up by 4×4 from the airport of Walvis Bay and complimentary boat cruise on departure day. Transfers from/to Swakopmund and Arandis are available at cost.
