The Surf Camp
Surfbase Vieux Boucau is nestled right in the centre of this charming village, just a short walk or bike ride to the beach. From the shared garden and lounge areas, you can head out daily to catch waves at local sandy beachbreaks or visit nearby world-class surf spots such as Seignosse, Capbreton and Hossegor.
Designed for those who want a small-scale camp feel with more comfort, Surfbase welcomes solo travellers, couples and small groups aged 18+, offering a mix of dormitory-style accommodations and private rooms. The communal living spaces inside and outside the house encourage socialising and relaxation in equal measure.
The Waves
Surfbase partners with a local surf school to offer lessons and gear hire right through the camp. Beginners and intermediate surfers can book packages that include board and wetsuit rental, with group surf lessons available most days during the season.
Vieux Boucau’s wide sandy beach offers multiple sandbanks, making it suitable for a range of ability levels, and more challenging breaks are just a bike ride or short drive away.
Accommodation
Accommodation at Surfbase Vieux Boucau includes comfortable private rooms for two, four or five guests, as well as shared dorm-style rooms. The double rooms—ideal for couples—offer a touch of privacy, while the dorms keep the communal, surf-camp spirit alive.
In the private rooms, you’ll find high-quality bedding, linens and towels included. Guests also enjoy full access to shared facilities such as the garden, lounge, and central common areas, making it easy to mingle or unwind depending on your mood.
The Cuisine
Every morning, guests are treated to a continental breakfast buffet, featuring fresh baguettes, croissants, granola, yoghurt, fruit, jams and unlimited coffee and tea—perfect fuel before heading out for surf sessions. Breakfast is included with your stay and sets the tone for the day.
You’ll receive the best local dining recommendations so you can head into Vieux Boucau town in the evenings for restaurants, and Surfbase occasionally hosts community dinners or barbecues!

Get There
The camp operates June through September and can accommodate off-season stays on request. The nearest airports are Biarritz and Bordeaux, both approximately one to one and a half hours by road. Transfers can be arranged, and there is free parking!
