Nomaya
Surf, yoga & community in the heart of Tamraght, Morocco
Located in the laid-back surf village of Tamraght on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, Nomaya Surf House is more than just a place to stay – it’s a gathering point for surfers, digital nomads, yogis and curious travellers. Built with community at its heart, this surf house offers space to connect, create, work, stretch, and ride waves in a warm and welcoming environment.
Whether you’re chasing your first wave, longing to slow down with yoga, or simply seeking a place where like-minded people converge, Nomaya gives you the freedom to design your stay your way.
The Camp
Nomaya was born from a vision: somewhere honest, rooted, and real – “not a resort, not a hotel, just a surf house.” Located in Tamraght, just north of Agadir, the camp blends relaxed Moroccan village life with surf house energy. The founders created Nomaya to fill a gap they felt in their travels: surf stays that lacked community, yoga retreats with no soul, co-working places without heart.
Facilities are centred around what matters: a rooftop terrace with ocean views, a coworking/lounge space, shared dining zones, and a sense of flow between private and communal life.
Waves at Nomaya
Surfing at Nomaya is deeply local and wonderfully flexible. The surf-only package offers daily lessons (with local, experienced instructors) plus free surf time from 9am to around 4pm. Beginners are welcome; coaching is tailored to your level, while more experienced surfers can push for better local breaks.
The surf spots around Tamraght and nearby Taghazout offer variety and consistency, making this a great base for wave seekers of many stripes.
Accommodation
Nomaya offers a range of room types so you can choose how you live: community or private, work or rest. There are shared dorms, 4-bed rooms, and private suites. In shared rooms, you’ll find personal lockers, fresh towels, simple modern bathrooms, and daily cleaning.
The private suites come with a queen bed, en-suite bathrooms, a little desk and storage space — clean, calm and thoughtfully designed. Throughout the house, there is a warm, minimalist style: local materials, natural textures, and lots of places to gather or escape.
The Cuisine
Food at Nomaya is simple, nourishing, and full of heart. With three meals a day included in each package, the in-house chef makes seasonal, local dishes that lean into Moroccan flavours while also offering healthy, familiar options.
The meals are communal, giving you the chance to slow down over tagine, fresh salads or seasonal fruit, and share stories with your housemates under the sky.
