Waves at La Coralina Island House
Renowned as the Indonesia of the Caribbeans, Boca del Toro is firmly established on the Central American surf scene.
Isla Colon holds the main breaks, the super fun quality wave of Paunch, right in front of the hotel, and the famous Bluff, a hollow & powerful barrelling wave breaking super close to the shore. On Isla Carenero, the famous left reef break peels down the island, for a ride that can top 200m: an all-rounder with nice lip-line and cutback shoulders, but it holds size and can have some long tubing sections too. For the chargers only, on Bastimentos, Silverbacks is a challenging righthander which can get monster sizes!
December to April is the prime season to surf in Bocas del Toro, but there is also a second June-August season if you do not mind a few rain showers.
