Situated just 30 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport, there are no long transfers to worry about upon arrival! The resort offers a range of couplesโ spa journeys, open-air cinema, private dining, and access to facilities at their sister resort, Anantara Dhigu.
Waves at Anantara Veli
Anantara Veli offers you access to all of the great waves in the South Male Atoll. South Male is generally quieter than its neighbor, North Male. This makes it great for those seeking to escape the crowds and enjoy quieter surfs.
The resort has a left-hand reef breaking on its house reef for advanced surfers. You can reach this without boat access and is free to surf as much as you want. This spot is for advanced surfers only and is best surfed with the onsite surf guides.
With the help of the expert onsite guiding, you can also surf Riptides (a fun intermediate-friendly right), Foxies (a great left-hander that offers barrels in the right conditions), Quarters (another good quality right), and others in the area!
Generally receiving smaller surf than North Male, Anantara Veli is great for all levels, with those looking for the biggest swells to travel May – September!
