Maki is a 105ft liveaboard Phinisi built-in 2017 in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. This large luxury charter is built to cruise comfortably through the Indonesian archipelago. Maki offers a level of luxury and space rarely found in the Mentawai Charter market at this price! With 4 double cabins, one being the Master suite, couples can get some privacy whilst on board. There is also a larger 5 person cabin.

The Boat
With 105ft sat on the waterline, Maki is one of the larger surf charters to explore the Mentawais. Built-in 2017 by expert boat builders in South Sulawesi, Maki is a true Indonesian surf charter.
Maki offers really comfortable accommodation rarely seen on charters, making this a great charter for families and couples alike! The boat has a good-sized indoor dining area with a large screen TV to watch back the days waves, a big covered chill-out area to the rear and a massive sun deck/roof terrace to watch sunsets from!
All rooms are are conditioned with fans for maximum comfort. The charter comes with 2 tenders, so you’re never left waiting for a lift to the waves and the experienced crew make sure you’re well looked after.
The Surf
The Mentawais are like no other island chain in the world. With such a high concentration of world-class waves and incredible consistency, the area has been drawing travelling surfers since the 1980’s when the first pioneers discovered this treasure trove of perfection.
From perfect peeling points, to heavy slabbing barrels, high-performance air waves and chilled longboard spots, the Mentawai Islands has something to offer everyone! The peak months of May – September offer regular larger surf, with the months either side offering consistent perfect with lower crowds!
It is a right of passage for every surf to experience Mentawai perfect at least once and Maki is the perfect charter to experience this on!

Accommodation
The accommodation onboard Maki is what sets it apart from other charter options, sleeping up to 11 guest comfortabley (up to 13 on private charters), the boat is spacious and well-appointed.
With a large 5-bed dorm room with Ensuite, 4 standard double cabins, and a beautiful Master Suite to the rear of the charter, all guests will sleep well after a long day in the surf!
All meals are served in the large dining area, equipped with a large TV to watch the day’s waves back at dinner. End the day with a beer on the top deck overlooking a stunning Mentawai sunset!
Food
The crew behind Maki know that the food onboard is just as important as the waves you’re surfing. They make sure that you’re well-fed at all times with delicious and healthy food, that is freshly prepared.
The day starts with a large breakfast with eggs your way, cereals, fruits and more. After a long morning session, you’ll be served a hearty lunch with snacks available in between if you are ever hungry.
The evening meals are all ways stand out, with the chef, Randy, taking real pride in the food that he serves his guests. We are always really impressed with everything that comes out of his kitchen!
