High standard Mentawai Surf Charter
The Moon Palikir is a classic Mentawai surf charter, built to a high standard and measuring 100ft, this charter is a great option for exploring the Mentawais, Telos or Banyak Islands. Run by an experienced charter company, the Moon Palikir is a large and spacious vessel.
With a large external deck, sturdy finishing, and a well thought out layout, the Moon Palikir is the perfect charter for surfers wanting to experience remote Indonesia in comfort. All rooms are air-conditioned and the sleeping arrangements offer much more space than other boats!
The Boat
Measuring 100ft, the Moon Palikir is one of the largest vessels sailing the Mentawi Islands. With 6 cabins for up to 12 guests, the charter offers loads of space and privacy for those onboard. All cabins have air conditioning for your comfort.
The charter features a large indoor dining area with a 42-inch plasma screen tv, a big deck area with storage for boards, great for chilling with a beer at the end of a long day surfing. The charter has 2 tenders, so there is always a ride out to the waves. The Moon Palikir is a great charter for those looking for a higher level of comfort than your average charter!
The Surf
The Mentawais are like no other island chain in the world. With such a high concentration of world-class waves and incredible consistency, the area has been drawing traveling surfers since the 1980’s when the first pioneers discovered this treasure trove of perfection.
From perfect peeling points to heavy slabbing barrels, high-performance air waves and chilled longboard spots, the Mentawai Islands has something to offer everyone! The peak months of May – September offer regular larger surf, with the months either side offering consistent perfect surf with lower crowds!
Moon Palikir also runs trips to the Telo Islands and the Banyak Islands.

Accommodation
The boat has 5 air-conditioned cabins, 4 with 2 single bunk beds and 1 with 4 single bunks. Each cabin has electricity and the charter provides all linen and fresh towels.
The large living area offers enough space for all guests to fit comfortably and you can access mineral water, coffee, snacks, and fruit throughout the day. Equipped with a 42-inch plasma TV it’s a great spot to relax and recover from the sun and the surf! Moon Palikir has a huge outdoor area on the upper deck, perfect for sunset beers!
Food
The crew behind Moon Palikir knows that the food onboard is just as important as the waves you’re surfing. They make sure that you’re well-fed at all times with delicious and healthy food, that is freshly prepared.
You’ll receive 3 large meals a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with snacks being available throughout the day. You’ll definitely not go hungry aboard Moon Palikir! The crew runs a BBQ on the top deck once a trip and the crew will help you cook up any fish that you catch!
