Saraina, constructed in 2003 with the sole purpose of navigating the exceptional waves of the Mentawai islands, underwent a significant refurbishment in 2022 to enhance its offerings. With a length of 19.5 meters and berths for up to 9, Saraina continues to provide a secure and comfortable platform for you and your group to discover the incredible surf of the Mentawai Islands.
Saraina is able to offer flexible trip lengths from 7 nights plus, making this one of the most flexible charters available!
The Boat
Saraina, is a great value, smaller surf charter in the Mentawais. Perfect for groups of 6 – 9 persons. Measuring 19.5 meters, Saraina offers a secure and comfortable platform for exploring the magnificent Mentawai Islands and surrounding areas. Crafted from local Indonesian hardwood with a dark coconut timber interior, powered by a reliable 360 HP turbo diesel engine, Saraina cruises at 8.5 knots, perfectly suited for the region.
Equipped with two generators, Saraina provides 240v power and full air conditioning throughout for added comfort. Accommodating 9 guests, each bunk features its own USB and power outlet. There is a dining area and a covered rooftop to watch the surf from!
The Surf
The Mentawais are like no other island chain in the world. With such a high concentration of world-class waves and incredible consistency, the area has been drawing traveling surfers since the 1980’s when the first pioneers discovered this treasure trove of perfection.
From perfect peeling points, to heavy slabbing barrels, high-performance air waves and chilled longboard spots, the Mentawai Islands has something to offer everyone! The peak months of May – September offer regular larger surf, with the months on either side offering consistent perfection with lower crowds!

Accommodation
Saraina boasts 9 beds in total. Our cabin space is fully air-conditioned, equipped with a backup air conditioning unit. Each bunk features its own USB and power outlet, ensuring convenient device charging for all guests.
The ideal group size ranges from 6 to 9 surfers for an intimate experience. However, with two larger beds capable of accommodating 2 people each, we can comfortably host up to 11 guests, including couples.
Food
Introducing Sapar, the charter’s seasoned chef for the season, celebrated for his delectable fusion of Western and Local Indonesian flavors. Drawing from the owner’s extensive experience as guests on countless charters and surf camps, they prioritize the culinary excellence to ensure each meal surpasses expectations. Collaborating closely with Sapar, they meticulously craft trip menus and shopping lists to guarantee their guests’ gastronomic satisfaction throughout their journey.
Nestled within our welcoming saloon, fully air-conditioned for comfort, guests will find a range of inclusive amenities: Drinks/Ice Cold Beer fridge, Standard Fridge, Freezer, Cold drinking water dispenser, Coffee & Tea provisions, and a TV & Soundsystem for entertainment.

1 – Pickup and return from Minangkabau International Airport in Padang (PDG), Sumatra. Transfers: Airport/ (Hotel) / Boat – Boat / (Hotel) / Airport. It takes around 40 min from the airport to the boat harbor
2 – Nights as booked
3 – Air-conditioned accommodation – Saraina up to 9 guests
4 – Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
5 – Snacks and fruits any time of the day or night
