Private Island Getaway in French Polynesia
Ninamu Resort is an intimate island resort, hidden away on a remote motu in the southwest corner of Tikehau atoll. This little slice of paradise serves as the perfect launchpad for luxury surfers seeking perfect Polynesian waves!
Ninamu Resort offers a client-focused experience with only 10 handcrafted bungalows in the resort. This ensures that all of our guests receive personal service not found in large chain resorts.
The Resort
Ninamu Resort sits on its own small private island, fringed by perfect white sands and azure blue waters, this is a true tropical paradise. In keeping with the tropical island theme, the resort only has a total of 8 uniquely designed villas with a total of 10 rooms. This creates an intimate and exclusive feeling for travelers at the resort.
Each villa has been uniquely designed and offers the highest levels of luxury for all guests!
Waves at Ninamu Resort
This oval-shaped atoll in the Tuamotu island group strung across the South Pacific Ocean some 300 kilometres from Tahiti rewards those surfers lucky enough to make it there, with an intense tropical experience in the Pacific wilderness. North swells provide the best quality surf from Nov – April, getting to the archipelago 3-5 days later than Hawaii. Despite the large distances travelled and because they come out of deep water with nearly no shadowing en-route, they arrive with surprising ferocity and consistency, lasting about 2-3 days. The South swell season runs the majority of the year, with the peak months being May-September, but it is not uncommon to have classic SE to SW swells during the North season.
Why We Love Ninamu Resort
Year-round swells and juicy reef passes in an intense tropical experience in the Pacific wilderness!
Enjoy your own private island with only a handful of other travelers!
The unique villas. Each one offers a different style and all are built with beautiful local materials!

The Cuisine
Ninamu Resort, even though remote and off-grid, serves a wide range of tasty and healthy meals. The resort follows the principles of permaculture, and all of their meals start with fresh, local, organic ingredients.
All of your meals at Ninamu are included in the price of your reservation. Breakfasts typically consist of cereals, homemade bread, organic honey, yogurts, jams, bacon, sausages, and eggs cooked to order. For lunches and dinners, we source organic produce, poultry, beef, and pork products. Fish is caught (oftentimes by you!) and prepared daily. Youโll dine on mahi-mahi, yellowfin, wahoo, bonito, and more. The resort can also cater to any dietary needs
Snorkel & Scuba
The onsite scuba and snorkel team are on hand for you to explore the incredible underwater world on the surrounding reefs. The area is world-renowned for water clarity, natural flora and fauna.
Fishing
The resort offers fishing from both the shore and boat with an amazing array of fish on offer! Youโll catch trevally, tuna, wahoo, snapper, mahi-mahi, bone fish, and marlin just to name a few!
Wind Sports
Wind is a consistent feature of the Tuamotu Atolls. The tradewinds blow year-round, averaging 15 knots or better, making Ninamu Resort an ideal destination for kiteboarders and windsurfers. Launch and land from their sandy beach, exploring the lagoon and adjacent sandbars.
