The Boat
The Maavahi is an 85ft long and 27ft wide traditional Maldivian charter. The boat’s size makes it perfect for navigating the tight and shallow reef passes that frequent the Maldives archipelago.
The living areas are spread across three decks with seven beautiful, well-furnished air-conditioned ensuite cabins. The charter has indoor and outdoor dining areas with space for 12 persons.
Maavahi is a specialized charter with a shallow hull, meaning it can anchor very close to the break. It has a centre console speedboat and a tender servicing the boat. This is a great size and excellent value-for-money surf charter for solo travelers and groups!
The Surf
The Maavahi is always located in the remote Southern Atolls for the surf season of February – November. As the region has very few surf camps, charters, and resorts, you’ll usually find the quietest surf in the Maldives here!
There are waves for all levels and tastes in the area. Blue Bowls, a well-shaped right-hand reef, that holds most sizes and can deal with SW winds. Love Charms, a long left-hander, that can break for up to 200m on a good day. Tiger Stripes, a beautiful left-hander that breaks quickly on a shallow reef with Antiques, an intermediate-friendly right-hander that breaks across the channel.
There are more spots to be left un-named but trust us, you’ll love the waves here!

Accommodation
The Maavahi can accommodate up to 12 persons onboard across 6 guest cabins (a smaller 7th cabin is reserved for the guide). All cabins are located on the lower deck and have twin bunk beds, air conditioning, and an ensuite bathroom with hot showers and a basin.
Each cabin has storage space for belongings and fans for those that prefer no AC! The charter uses high-quality linen and comfortable beds, to give you the best nights sleep after a long day surfing!
Food
The Maavahi has been catering to surfers and divers in the Maldives for years and knows how important good food is. The team onboard are experienced and have worked with the charter for many years.
The charter serves up 3 hearty meals a day, with snacks being available in between. The chef cooks a range of dishes from all cultures, always making sure that they are tasty and filling! All packages include water, coffee, and tea. Alcoholic beverages and beers are available and chargeable onboard.
