The Resort
Located just a short boat ride from Hideaways, Hidden Bay Resort sits on a stretch of unspoiled beach in the heart of the Playgrounds region. This location allows the resort to be within easy boat ride of all the best spots in the area!
The resort caters to a maximum of 12 surfers, keeping crowds low and the vibes high. Surf guiding on site is provided by experienced surf guides, that know every corner of the region. Quality surf guiding allows you to get the best waves possible for your level.
The resort complements the surf experience with functional training classes and throughout the year, high-performance training camps are available (chargeable extra)

Hidden Bay Resort sits in the ‘Playgrounds’ region in Northern Mentawai. They have access to 24+ waves by boat, so there are waves for all levels at all times of the year! Steep & hollow barrels, rippable walls, fun-sized waves, there is something for everyone to get stoked on.
The Peak season of May – October brings the largest swells, favoring the advanced to expert surfers, with the rest of the year serving up consistent head-high to overhead surf! Even in the peak season, intermediate-friendly surf can be found. Stand outs in the region are Kandui (world-class left), Rifles (Indo’s most perfect/fickle right), Hideaways (goofy footers dream), and many more! The expert surf guides will always get you into waves suitable for your level.

Accommodation
When staying at Hidden Bay Resort, you will be accommodated in one of their beautiful Umas (bungalows). With 7 rooms spread over the two bungalows, there are rooms for couples, friends solo travelers, and families! Solo traveler rates are very affordable.
All rooms offer a private balcony, air conditioning, hot shower, orthopedic mattress, 400-lin bed sheets, mini bar, private bathrooms, and daily housekeeping. With a range of double, twin, and single options, you can see the available rooms in our booking engine here.
The Cuisine
Hidden Bay Resort provides a gastronomic experience with each meal. Their residente Chef Dito Prasepta mixes textures and tastes in harmony, delivering great meals. Their menu is based on natural and nutritional meals with touches of local and international cuisine. All meals aim to provide guests with light, healthy, and tasty food. Their special menu resets the energy for the next surf session with fast and light digestion.
Breakfast consists of smoothies, fruit cereal, yogurt, sandwiches, and pancakes, as well as the best coffee around, made with the finest grains of Sumatra. You are free to choose 2 items per time. The resort can adapt our menu to any restriction and diet.
Activities
The Mentawai Islands have a lot more to offer than mind-blowing barrels! Explore the tropical reefs along the islands, go fishing, and hiking, jump on one of the boats and explore one of the many uninhabited Mentawai islands and more!

Getting there
After arriving in Padang, you would have to spend your first night in a hotel and catch the Mentawai Fast Ferry the next morning. The ferry departs on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and takes around 4 hours to get to Siberut, where Hidden Bay staff will pick you up to bring you to the resort. Alternatively, for larger groups, private speed boat transfers are available to the resort!
