The refurbished resort’s cosy beachfront bungalows and beach chalet are primed to embrace you and your family in the Mentawai Islands. Offering outstanding vibes and hassle-free relaxation.
Guests are allowed to use the resort’s facilities such as yoga shala, workout gazebo, kayak, SUP, and funboards. Wi-Fi internet is available throughout the property.
Waves at Katiet Beach Resort
Katiet Beach Resort has access to some of the best waves in the Mentawais. Right out front is Hollow Tree’s (Lance’s Right), a picture-perfect right-hander that serves up some of the best tubes in the region, watch out for the ‘Surgeon’s Table’ at the end, a shallow reef platform that catches out those who don’t exit early enough! Around the corner, you have Lance’s Left, a long, consistent left-hander working in opposite winds to HT’s.
Cobras is an A-frame peak breaking nearby to Lance’s Left, offering good left-hand barrels. Nearby is Bintangs, a shallow dredging right-hander that on medium swells offers short right barrels and is playful in smaller swells. There are also wae options further afield by boat.

The Master Bungalow Ensuite is the best option for couples or small families and comes with a queen bed and an extra single bed. The Twin Shared Bungalows Ensuite are perfect for solo travelers on a budget or friends traveling together.
Katiet Beach House is an 80m square oceanfront family bungalow with breathtaking views to Lance’s Right. With a queen bed and two single beds, this is the perfect choice for families on vacation or groups of 3 to 4 friends.
The Cuisine
Katiet’s exclusive restaurant offers delectable chef-made meals. With excellent Google reviews highlighting the exceptional service and mouthwatering cuisine, Katiet’s restaurants boast a diverse menu featuring Western, Brazilian, and Indonesian dishes.
Activities
When you’re not surfing the perfect waves in the area you have a wide range of activities to try! Guests can snorkel the reefs, hike through the interior of the island, fish (both from land and boats), explore with kayaks, and cruise around the lagoon on the resort’s Stand Up Paddleboards.
Wellness
Massages can be organised upon appointment request either in the room or at the gazebo. Guests are welcome to use the yoga shala and workout gazebo as they wish.
Getting There
AWAVE Travel and Katiet Beach Resort can arrange your transfer from Padang for you! You will be greeted at the airport by the resort staff and transferred to your hotel in Padang for an overnight stay. In the morning you will be transferred to the Mentawai Fast Ferry which will bring you to Sipora. From here you will be collected by speed boat and transferred to the resort. For larger groups, private speedboat transfers can be arranged from Padang!
