Waves at Pinang Island
The Banyak Islands stand out as Indonesia’s premier surf zones. The area has high quality waves without the crowds typical of other destinations.
The peak season spans from April to October when the Indian Ocean comes alive with consistent, sizable swells. This is when the waves turn world-class with overhead waves and the chance to score world-class barrels.
For a quieter experience and smaller waves, the period from November to March is a great time to visit the region. During this time, intermediate surfers and those seeking more chilled surf can enjoy glassy surf ranging from 2-4 feet.
