Waves at Moro Ma Doto
Moro Ma Doto is located on the remote Morotai Island in the Northern Maluku Islands. Located in the North East of Indonesia, the prime surfing months are between November and April. In this period, typhoon swells travel from the northern Pacific, making this a great off-season Indonesia spot to travel to.
During the season, regular mid-sized swells allow for fun waves all along the coastline. The region is largely ignored by the wider surfing world, meaning that uncrowded lineups are the norm here. The resort overlooks 3 lefthanders, breaking on different swells. These are accessible directly from the beach. Further afield there are rights and lefts via boat and over land. The onsite team offers daily surf guiding to the many quality waves in the area!
The Villas
Moro Ma Doto is an intimate resort with only 4 villas, 3 luxury suites, and a small boathouse room. The resort also offers some beautifully furnished glamping tents beside the beach!
Stay in comfort in the spacious villas, featuring king or twin beds, cozy daybed, air conditioning, and high ceiling fans. Indulge in relaxation on your private canopy swing and soak in the ocean breezes. The open-air bathroom provides a refreshing rain shower and a luxurious freestanding bathtub with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. All villas have access to a shared infinity pool!

Moro Ma Doto has an onsite restaurant serving local and western food, using ingredients sourced locally and from their onsite garden. Fresh seafood is the order of the day here but all tastes are catered for. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served onsite, and we would recommend the Full Board package, as there are limited restaurants near the resort!
The restaurant overlooks the bay with an infinity pool for travelers to enjoy.
