Cape Weligama

Cape Weligama is nestled on top of the cliffs fringing Weligama. Lying just 30 minutes from the historic town of Galle, the resort has become renowned in the luxury travel scene.

Cape Weligama inhabits 12 manicured acres atop a headland rising 40 metres above the Indian Ocean. Stunning panoramas await, naturally complementing the 39 private retreats designed by one of Asia’s most celebrated architects, Lek Bunnag. The hotel’s onsite restaurants, as does the 60-meter crescent-shaped infinity pool that overlooks a great fun left and right-hand reef break!

At Cape Weligama, you have access to a great range of waves for all levels. The prime season for surfing in the area is October to April. During this time you can expect to find fun-sized, consistent surf, perfect for beginners and intermediates. Advanced surfers will also love the playful and fun waves on offer!

At the foot of Cape Weligama’s cliff, you will find Jungle Beach, home to a long fun lefthander and a right-hander, perfect for intermediate plus surfers. Just a short drive away is the beginner paradise of Weligama. This beach is perfect for those looking to build confidence! There are many more reefs and beaches waiting for you to explore in the nearby region.

Nestled into Cape Weligama’s headland, a collection of 39 Suites and Villas create the welcoming illusion of a traditional Sri Lankan village.

The Villas are set within eight gardens in the upper part of the headland, comprising two or three Villas in each plus a large shared infinity-edge swimming pool. The Ocean Pool Villa and Duplex Two Bedroom Cape Pool Villa enjoy private 15m pools. The Suites are located at the lower level, around the Cove Pool. They are especially well suited to families or friends traveling together.

All accommodations enjoy a large terrace with dining and in-room spa facilities, spacious walk-in wardrobes, Sonos wireless audio, handmade Ophir toiletries, a steam room & large bathrooms with twin vanities, and a stone tub.

The Surf Bar sits atop a dramatic cliff that overlooks a pristine bay famed for drawing in seasoned surfers from around the world. All Villas & Suites have dining tables on generous terraces where meals could be served in a private setting, overlooking tropical gardens.
