Waves at Surf N Sun Arugam Bay
Sun N Sun’s surf season runs from May to October, though it can sometimes start in April and extend into November. This variation depends on wind direction and the end of the southern season, which shifts the wind and moves the sand into place for optimal surf conditions. The Point at Arugam Bay is famous for its long, mellow right-hand walls!
All of Sun N Sun’s surf instructors are locals from the village who have been surfing Arugam Bay’s spots since childhood. They are ISA qualified, ensuring you receive essential theory knowledge before entering the water, helping you understand the environment and connect with the waves. Guiding is also available for advanced surfers looking to explore!

Surf N Sun is perfectly located to take a safari trip to see local wildlife such as Elephants or Crocodiles! Visit their own lagoon side farm to see where Surf N Sun’s produce comes from! Other day trips can also be organised!
Yoga
Yoga classes are taught every morning and evening in their Yoga Garden. Daily schedules will be available onsite (payable locally).
Getting There
Transfers from Colombo to Arugam Bay are available directly with the camp. There are also local buses for the adventurous traveler.
